Watch a Shakespearean comedy inside the ruins of a Welsh castle at sunset, to help raise donations to fund Wales Air Ambulance’s missions across Wales.
The Festival Players Theatre Company are hosting an evening in Raglan Castle with a production of Shakespeare’s The Merry Wives of Windsor at sunset to raise donations for Wales Air Ambulance on August 18.
The open-air theatre style event will take place in the spectacular walls of the late medieval castle, with attendees picnicking and enjoying the fundraising event as the sun sets.
The Festival Players Theatre Company puts on a production every year in the ruins of Raglan Castle, and this will be the second event that will raise donations for Wales Air Ambulance.
Last year, the rendition of Hamlet raised over £600 for Wales Air Ambulance, to help fund the charity’s helicopter missions across Wales.
The ticket sales and a charity raffle will help to generate donations for the Welsh helicopter charity throughout the evening of entertainment.
The theatregoers are also in with a chance of winning a prize, with a prize being awarded to the best picnic during the evening of Shakespeare.
Liesel Townley, Wales Air Ambulance Community Coordinator, said: “The Merry Wives of Windsor at sundown in Raglan Castle is not only a spectacular way to spend an evening, by it is also helping to fund lifesaving helicopter missions across Wales.
“Each of Wales Air Ambulance’s missions costs around £1,500 and by coming along to the Festival Players Theatre Company’s production, you can help to fund our operations across the country.
“We would like to say a huge thank you to the Festival Players Theatre Company for their outstanding support, and for choosing to support WAA for the second year.”
