Team Millett complete 5k bounce run in memory of Adam

Friends and family conquered a fitness challenge on an inflatable course in memory of Adam Millett, and in aid of the helicopter charity that tried to save him.

Wales Air Ambulance was called to Adam who had been involved in a serious road traffic accident on September 30 2016, but sadly the crew were unable to save him.

In his memory, around 20 members of Adam’s family and friends took part in the Chepstow Bounce 5K event on June 17 to raise funds for Wales Air Ambulance.

Team Millett raised over £1,000 for Wales Air Ambulance, tackling the 5km inflatable obstacle course in Adam’s memory.

Team Millett said: “The Wales Air Ambulance relies solely on public funds.

“We want to do something that will help others, as Adam would have wanted that. Adam was always helping others.

“We will always have good memories of him. He was a daddy, son, brother and an amazing friend, who was loved by many.”

The Chepstow 5k Bounce Run was held in aid of the charity, with the proceeds from the registration fees helping to generate donations to help keep WAA’s helicopters flying.

Every year Wales Air Ambulance needs to raise £6.5million to fund its operations, with each of its emergency medical missions across Wales costing around £1,500.

On top of the donations for Wales Air Ambulance raised through registration fees, Team Millett raised £1,125 for the charity in Adam’s memory, to thank them for attending the road traffic accident he was involved in.

The team aren’t stopping their fundraising there, as they will also be tackling Velothon Wales on July 9.

Liesel Townley, Wales Air Ambulance Community Coordinator, said: “We are incredibly honoured that Team Millett would fundraise for us in Adam’s memory.

“Their support has been outstanding, and the donations they raised will help to fund a mission across Wales.

“We wouldn’t be able to fund our operations if it weren’t for the support we receive from people like the friends and family in Team Millett.”
