Dancers raise lifesaving donation

A South Wales dance group are helping to save lives, by funding an emergency helicopter mission for the people of Wales.

The Friendship Sequence Dance Club held tea dances throughout 2016 in aid of Wales Air Ambulance, raising donations to fund one of the charity’s lifesaving missions.

The fundraising dance events raised a total of £1,500, with members kindly donating to the Welsh helicopter charity.

Each of Wales Air Ambulance’s missions cost around £1,500, which are funded by charitable support.

The Friendship Sequence Dance Club presented their donation to Paul Canning, WAA Fundraising Coordinator, at the Calsonic Club, Felinfoel.

Paul said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to the club for their support, which will fund a lifesaving helicopter mission in Wales.

“As a charity, we rely on kind donations and support to keep our helicopters flying across Wales.

“Without the support of people like the Friendship Sequence Dance Club, we wouldn’t be able to raise the £6.5 million needed every year to fund our operations.”
