Wales Air Ambulance is the all-Wales charity that provides vital air cover for time critical illness or injury. We’re on standby every single day of the year, ready to help anyone in Wales during their most difficult hour of need.

We also operate the Children's Wales Air Ambulance, providing specialist treatment and airlifting some of Wales’ youngest patients.

The charity relies entirely on donations to raise £6.5 million every year, to keep our helicopters flying. Fundraising and generating awareness within Wales’ diverse communities is a vital part of reaching that goal. We also run 16 shops and a cafe, which provide essential income to keep the charity’s helicopters in the air and saving lives.

Deputy Shop Manager - Tywyn

To ensure that the shop operation is developed to meet the strategy, both in terms of financial performance and in terms of quality of service.

Maintain effective working relationships with managers, colleagues, paid staff, volunteers and community contacts in order to achieve objectives.

Willing to work flexible hours as regular weekend, Bank Holiday and evening work is required.

  • To be responsible for the day to day operation of the retail shop.
  • Effectively attract, recruit, train, develop and appraise all shop paid staff when appropriate and volunteers.
  • Regularly monitor, report and evaluate the performance of the shop operation, in particular relation to volunteers.

Trustees - pan Wales

Wales Air Ambulance is looking for new Trustees to join the charity's Board. As a Trustee, your knowledge and experience will bring a wealth of expertise in providing governance and strategic direction in accordance with regulatory guidelines.

We would like to hear from candidates from a wide range of backgrounds, including but not limited to law, marketing, business and medicine. The charity values diversity and we would particularly welcome applications from women and BAME groups.

Commitment required is a maximum of 8 days per year.

Part-time Café Assistant • Caernarfon Airport

Two part-time vacancies • 22.5 hours a week • £7.50 / hr

We are looking for two part-time assistants to support the running of our café enterprise at Caernarfon Airport.

This is an exciting opportunity to support our new café at Caernarfon Airport, the home of our North Wales air ambulance operation. The café has superb views of the airfield, which is nestled close to the stunning coastline of Dinas Dinlle. The airport attracts a range of visitors and monies raised in the café go straight into funding lifesaving missions across Wales.

As Café Assistant, you will support the Café Manager with daily duties as part of a small catering team. You will have responsibility for menu planning, food storage, preparation, production, cooking and service.

You understand how to operate within deadlines and to required standards, ensuring customer satisfaction, and how to work within the operating budget using local nominated suppliers.

The role requires some manual handling, and the flexibility to work weekends and bank holidays on a variable rota.
